Community
Consultation Meeting
June 6th, 7:00 pm
Kenaston Place
PLEASE ATTEND
There is a clear and present danger in standing still as evidenced by the 45 minute drive into 'the city'. The
residential acreages are creeping southward and there is a strong belief that the alley between Saskatoon and
Regina will be akin to that of Calgary and Edmonton. To that end, the Village Council and the Kenaston and District Chamber of Commerce are holding a public meeting to bring members of the community together to consider the future development of Kenaston.
The Council will provide updates with respect to village management, infrastructure projects and apprise us of the efforts taking place on our behalf. The RM of
Kenaston and RM of Rosedale will provide an overview of their strategies for future development. Monica
Kreuger, Past President of the Greater Saskatoon Chamber will be in attendance providing insight on high-way growth from the Saskatoon business communities perspective. Russ McPherson and Adam Toth, Water-wolf representatives will give us a brief appraisal of what the statistics are telling us of present and future trends as well as the logistics of our community and region.
There will be ample opportunity for public feedback and discussion to generate ideas. The community members will be asked to consider our priorities for development. We will also have the opportunity to better understand the infrastructure issues relative to growth. This will be our chance to develop a collaborative and shared vision for the community that will guide our elected
representatives into the future.
It has been a while since Kenaston has gathered with a community focus in mind so the chamber and council are hopeful that the meeting will be well attended. Please keep your schedule open on June 6th to attend and to giving voice to some of your ideas and observations.
At 8:30pm the Department of Highways will show a map of the 3 options for rerouting Highway 15 at Kenaston and will be prepared to answer questions and hear your comments. Please plan to attend.
