The Village of Kenaston is currently accepting applications for the position of Full Time Public Works Operator/Foreman.

The successful candidate will be a dependable, motivated individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication and public relations skills are essential, as this position plays an important role in providing quality municipal services to the community. The Public Works Operator/Foreman will be responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and upkeep of municipal infrastructure, including roads, water and sewage systems, and municipal facilities.

The position involves a variety of duties, including manual labour, general maintenance and repairs, water and sewage system maintenance, parks and facilities maintenance, village dump operation, and the operation of various hand tools and equipment, including heavy machinery such as a grader and tractor. The role requires a combination of technical skills, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and community service. The position reports directly to the Administrator.

A high school diploma or equivalent is a minimum requirement, with effective communication skills, both written and verbal, along with a valid Class 5 Drivers License. Water and/or wastewater certifications are an asset and desirable. Additional certifications for equipment operation are also considered an asset. Availability to work outside of standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required, which may include water treatment plant checks, village dump operation, emergency situations, or special projects, is necessary.

Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
